Wow did we have a spectacular weekend of golf? So many storylines. And so much to talk about. Let's start with the obvious.

This week was compared by many as the first true test of a U.S. Open Type Event, BMW Championship. The week was filled with tall rough, tiny fairways, and rock hard greens. No one was put on 59 watch and birdies were hard to come by.

But our winner Jon Rahm did not let us down with his spectacular weekend and entertainment. Jon Rahm did not start out as the weeknd's favorite because he ended day one and two with being +6 over par.

Jon, on Saturday, decided to launch himself into the highlight reel after a spectacular event on the green. On the par four 5th hole, Jon decided to forget to mark his ball and picked it up. The Brain Fart ended up costing him a 1 stroke penalty turning his 63 into a 64.

Jon told the media he would be pissed if he lost the tournament by 1 shot. Well, he backed up his 66 with a 64 on Sunday to win in a playoff over Dustin Johnson. Jon rolled in a bomb from downtown and smashed DJ’s hopes.

Sunday was filled with great shots and a true test of golf. Plus it was fun to watch these touring professionals struggle from time from time.

Jon did not only launch himself into the #2 spot in the FedEx Cup but also rolled in a putt that made him $1,700,000. Yup, that is right, Dustin Johnson made an even $1 million after missing his birdie putt, costing himself $700,000.

Our Next Winner.

LPGA started the week with a three day event at the Walmart NW Arkansas.

Austin Ernst Ended Sunday...with shooting a 63 and making 10 birdies and two bogeys to take home the crystal.

Headed to the FINALS

  • Marc Leishman ended his week at +30 and in dead last but he is moving onto East Lake, GA.

  • Billy Horschel rounds out the top thirty after Correy Conners 3 putts from 5 feet.

  • Mackenzie Hughes makes a 5 foot sand save par putt to move on.

  • Cameron Champ, Victor Hovland, and Cameron Smith all keep their top 30!

Rory Mcilroy was quoted last week as lacking focus and just did not have the drive to motivate him on the golf course. But we now know why he was having trouble staying focused. He and his wife (Erica) are expecting to have their baby girl in a matter of days. Good for you Rory and Erica! Exciting times.

Other Golf News

On Wednesday, Phil Mickelson took home his first Champions Tour Victory closing out the old guys at -22 under par. Not too bad for a first.

Tiger Woods said Phil should be able to win every week out on the Champions Tour due to his pure length of the tee. It is rumored we will see Phil in Napa at the Safeway Open a week prior to the U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods ended his season in Chicago and will not be moving onto East Lake.

Do You Feel That?

It feels like I’m forgetting something…
