FEDEX CUP OR MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP
WELCOME BACK…
Or welcome, new reader’s of the Aloha Press Newsletter.
The week began with me requesting a media pass from the PGA Tour. Shocking, the little guy (The Aloha Press) was denied a pass inside the gates of East Lake. (The location of this week's PGA Championship and final event of the FedEx Cup in Atlanta, Ga.) But that did not stop me (JC) from heading to the EastSide of Atlanta to view the action.
Couple Takeaways…
I was not the only fan/media standing on the street on my tippy toes trying to get a glimpse of the top 30 playing for $60 million. There were hundreds of fans peering through the fence, standing on old tree stumps, and people who brought ladders to get a better glimpse of the fanless event.
Some of the players appeared annoyed at our presence, but I got a kick out of an ice cream truck blaring happy music when these guys were teeing off.

Let's get to your new
FedEx Cup Champion!

To be honest this was not your typical PGA Tour Event or Major Championship. It definitely lacked the excitement coming down the stretch, but the final 9 holes were without commercials. I forgot what golf looked like without being interrupted every 5 minutes with a commercial. It felt nice to watch all the golf shots coming down the stretch.
DJ entered the week with a two stroke advantage over Jon Rahm and led the entire tournament. DJ might have taken home the trophy and a $15 million check, but he was not the best player this week. DJ would have finished 3rd at -11 under behind Scottie Scheffler @ -15 under and Xander Schauffele @ -18 under.

Now, I need a few things answered. What would you rather win: the FedEx cup ($15 Million) or the U.S. Open in two weeks? What would you do with $15 million? Oh and no boring answers. I want the selfish answers!

Crazy Money List!

Inside D.J.’s Golf Bag!

But Who is the Real Winner?
I would suggest Jim “Bones” Mackay is the real winner! Yes, Bones. The longtime caddie for Phill, filled in the past 5 weeks as Justin Thomas’ caddie. In the past 5 weeks, JT has taken home almost $6.5 million in earnings. This is just a guess, but the standard caddie rate is 10% of the player's winnings. Hmmm… That is almost $125,000 per week. What a hell of a way to earn a few bucks.
