I have to say; this place is the reason why I play golf.  It all started when I was five years old at a driving range clinic hosted by Castle Oaks Golf Club.  I remember learning how to hit shots on the driving range and putting around the practice green.  At the end of the clinic, we would be able to compete in a nine-hole golf tournament.  And from then on I was hooked.  It probably helped I was able to beat both my father and grandfather that day but who knows.

Castle Oaks is a beautiful piece of property located in Ione, California next to the iconic Preston Castle.  As you enter the property you realize this is going to be a great day.  Castle Oaks is a public golf course with five different tee boxes.  The greens are poa, but they seem to always be in great shape.  The course is wide and friendly off the tee.

The course is not only a great piece of property, but it is the people from the clubhouse, to the restaurant and bar, but also the guys in the cart barn. 

I dare you to play at Castle Oaks Golf Club!
